We’ve had another fantastic Easter, joining the brilliant Karbon Homes Holiday Squad programme, delivering fun-filled sessions for children across the community. This year, we popped up at Chester-le-Street Community Centre, Bullion Hall, and St John’s Hall in Moorside, and what an amazing time we had!

Karbon Homes Holiday Squad is all about providing a great range of free activities for primary school-aged children during the Easter and summer holidays, and we absolutely love being part of it. Having worked alongside the programme for several years now, it’s something we always look forward to and this Easter certainly didn’t disappoint!
Our “Easter Egg-stravaganza!” sessions
were packed with excitement from start to finish. The children enjoyed a full day of hands-on fun, getting stuck into:
Baking delicious sweet treats, including Bunny Cheesecake and Chick Cupcakes
Creating their very own Easter picnic lunch, including colourful rainbow wraps
Practising key cooking skills like safe knife techniques and grating
Taste testing along the way and trying new flavours
Crafting and decorating colourful springtime creations
Taking part in energetic Easter games, from bunny hop races to egg hunts

These drop-off sessions gave children the chance to build confidence, try new skills, make friends, and most importantly have lots of fun in a safe and welcoming environment.
We’re also really excited to be continuing the fun this week with our SEN/D-friendly sessions, designed to be inclusive, supportive, and just as fun, hosted at The Croft Community School.
A huge thank you to Karbon Homes for having us once again, we’re already looking forward to the next Holiday Squad adventures!
