Earlier this month, The Grove Primary School was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed our young adventurers for three days of action-packed holiday camp fun! From superheroes to a jungle adventure, and even a world full of bugs, each day was bursting with creativity, cooking, laughter, and plenty of hands-on activities.
Day 1 – Superhero Day

We kicked off the week by unleashing our inner superheroes! The children designed their very own superhero masks, ready to take on the day’s adventures. Our scavenger hunt had everyone racing around with excitement before heading back to refuel with homemade rainbow pasta bake for lunch, packed with colourful veg to keep our heroes strong. We also baked superhero cookies, which were decorated with plenty of creative flair (and a sprinkle of super powers!).
Day 2 – Jungle adventure

The rainforest came to life as we shared the beautiful story of The Greedy Rainbow. Inspired by its colours, the children prepared delicious rainbow wraps, practising chopping, grating, and filling wraps with an explosion of vibrant veggies. We crafted animal masks, tackled a jungle-themed obstacle course, and rounded off the day by baking light, zesty lemon drizzle cakes.
Day 3 – Brilliant Bugs
Our final day was all about the amazing world of mini beasts. Inspired by stories such as what the ladybird heard and Superworm. We rolled up our sleeves to make ladybird pizzas and Superworm dirt cups, the tastiest ‘mud’ treat! The children then got crafty making their own binoculars before heading outdoors for a bug hunt. From beetles to ladybugs, every discovery sparked excitement! We also used clay to make bug-inspired creations to take home.
A huge thank you to all the amazing children who joined us this summer! Until next time, keep cooking, crafting, and having fun!
